Flat Plans

I have decided to call my magazine 'Life at Lewes' because it is going to be about what goes on in the college. The masthead I would like to be quite bold and standing out. I would also like my main image to overlap the masthead as this means that the attention is mainly drawn towards the picture and what the magazine has to offer. I would like my tag line to be " The official student magazine".

Because this magazine is going to be the first issue since the beginning of the school year, I would like my main flash to say "Welcome to Lewes- what to expect from Lewes College". My main flash is going to be big and bold also. Other images can take up space on the front cover to back up what else is included in the magazine. My front page will also have a barcode, date, issue number and price. I am going to price my magazine at £1 as I think that more students will buy it if it is this price. Text with smaller headings could be rotated and angled to make the front cover look more appealing to a younger audience. The strap line is going to include titles about what else is going to be included in the magazine also.

For my contents page I would like to have a bold border running across the top of the page with the main title in it to show continuation throughout the magazine. The rest of the contents page I would like to have pictures in so that it still looks bright and interesting. If possible to appeal to my target audience of the college students I would like to maybe have a theme for my contents page, I was thinking something like a pin board with the contents of the magazine listed but so that is looks like they have been stuck to the pin board. The main flash of the title 'CONTENTS' I would like to stand out in capital letters and perhaps to be big and bold. Some of the pictures could be rotated to make the contents page look more interesting. The font should be continuous with the front page and also be easy to read yet look like something a college student would like to see.
